b.Blunt Talks: Cannabis cooking that makes medicating delicious!

This week, b.Blunt sat down with Keena Moffett, the brainchild behind Exhale Media Production, an elevated cooking company for culinary pros and beginner chefs that includes The Andidote, Cooking Cannabis 101, and Eat My Green products.

Keena has dedicated herself to creating fun and entertaining cooking content for the cannabis enthusiast who wants to learn how to more easily incorporate the amazing plant into their lifestyle. 

Tell us about yourself, what’s your story? 

I am a business professional and entrepreneur, as well as a creative and artist. I have had the pleasure of owning my own bakery, being a professional photographer and also being an author of one of the first cannabis cookbooks to focus on removing the “stoner” stigma from the use of the plant. In 2016, I wrote Cannabis Creations: Beyond the Brownie and I’m so happy that I did. Many people have shared with me how learning through my cookbook helped them more easily medicate.

You’ve created an online cooking show called The Antidote, which offers instructional videos and recipes all about making medicating delicious! I love it! Where do you get your inspiration?

I began like most cooks, making only conventional foods, but I always steered toward holistic herbs and ingredients in food. Once I closed my all-natural commercial bakery, I started looking into learning to infuse my existing recipes with cannabis.

My inspiration for The Antidote came from what I believe to be my life’s mission which is to teach people to heal themselves through food.

I love the Tailgate Weed Wings and Chocolate Lava Cake. What are your favorite recipes?  

My favorite food is Mac & Cheese, so episode 1 is a winner! And my favorite dessert is Chocolate Lava Cake, so that would be another great one.

Do you offer any other cooking tips for the canni-curious? What is the easiest recipe for a beginner to try first?

In addition to my cookbook (available on Amazon), I also offer an online course called Cannabis Cooking 101 available on Teachable, and host cannabis infused dinner parties that are both open to the public as well as private catering. I also offer free cannabis recipes from my cooking show at www.CreativeMaven.me/recipes. 

I think all of the recipes are pretty simple, but I’d recommend gummies because it’s a super simple process.

Can you tell me more about your slogan “I Eat My Green”? How did you come up with it? What are you best selling products?

I love words and phrases that have multiple meanings, so my slogan is a nod to my healthy and holistic eating habits while obviously also referring to cannabis as “Green” at the same time, since I’m an edibles cook, lol.
My best selling product under the “I Eat My Green” brand is definitely the apron.

 

In your opinion what is the biggest challenge in the cannabis industry right now, specifically for women?

In my opinion, the biggest challenge for the industry is lack of education about the plant to the general public. I truly believe that proper education will rid us of the “stoner” stigma that currently exists, and allow people to use cannabis for the wellness product that it is.

How did you get introduced to cannabis, and is it a part of your everyday life?

I was first introduced to cannabis at a young age because so many people I knew were using it, but I never had the desire to try it myself. Now, it is a huge part of my everyday life as I host events, develop recipes for my show and create meals and snacks for my clients.
